DLA Construction Services, LLC is the result of a vision conceived in 1975 when Dan Allen, Managing Member, was 5 years old. Dan always wanted to be an architect and involved in the construction industry. After years of property maintenance on family rental property and summers of working for a family owned concrete construction company, he attended Kent State University’s School of Architecture and Environmental Design, the premier program in the Fine & Professional Arts program. This program is currently ranked among the top 10 undergraduate schools in the USA.

After graduation in 1993 and several summers of interning with local architectural firms, Dan opted to take a job offer working for a large commercial general contractor located in the Greater Cleveland area as Assistant Field Superintendent. After the first 8 months of building restaurants in New Jersey, Indiana, and Michigan, he was promoted to Assistant Project Manager and moved into the local Cleveland headquarters. Over the following 8+ years, the company grew exponentially from an annual volume of $22M/year to $85M/year in 2001. Over this period, Dan too grew from Assistant Project Manager to Senior Project Manager handling approx. 25% of annual sales volume.

It was at this time that DLA Construction Services, LLC was born as Dan left the comfort and stability of a “job” to embark upon his journey to fulfill his dream of owning his own business. Since inception in 2001, DLA Construction Services, LLC has completed more than 600 projects and in 2011 expanded operations creating the Pacific Northwest office (located in Vancouver, WA) to compliment the Midwest office (located in Cleveland, OH). This was achieved by adding successful entrepreneurial partners providing the financial strength and network of opportunities necessary to catapult DLA Construction Services, LLC to the next level of success.
